Introducing Emsella for incontinence treatment

BTL EMSELLA is a FDA approved treatment for men and women of any age who desire a solution for urinary incontinence and improvement in their quality of life. Patients who leak while coughing or who have leakage with sudden urges to rush to the bathroom are good candidates for the Emsella Incontinence treatment.

At Renew Aesthetic & Laser Clinic, we will tailor the treatments for you after an initial consultation with our nurse practitioners. A typical treatment takes about 28 minutes, with no drugs involved and completely non-invasive. How long before you will notice results from Emsella? You will need about 6 sessions and 2 times a  week for 3 weeks.

What does Emsella Incontinence treatment feel like? During your treatment, you will experience tingling and muscle contractions of the pelvic floor.  Most patients report a unique sensation but very tolerable. There is no downtime and you  may resume daily activities immediately after the treatment.

You may gain improvement after a single session. For most people, the results will typically continue to improve over the next few weeks.

Q and A:

  1. Can Emsella help men with urinary leakage or urgency? How about after prostatectomy?

Emsella is FDA approved for men. In our experience, we have seen encouraging results. Some men require a liner or small pad for small amounts of leakage after radical prostatectomy.  These men may leak during a heavy exercise or towards the end of the day. Emsella has helped the majority of these men return to continence. Some men have not had surgery but they have significant urgency and frequency to urinate. Emsella also offers a non-invasive solution for Over Active Bladder symptoms.

  1. How Does Emsella Work?

FDA Approved Emsella applies high intensity focused electromagnetic energy (HIFEM) to deeply stimulate pelvic floor muscles and restore neuromuscular control. These muscle  contractions work to repair the pelvic floor to enable patients to regain bladder control. The following is the quote of FDA indications of Emsella:

“HPM-6000UF [Emsella] is intended to provide entirely non-invasive electromagnetic stimulation of  pelvic floor musculature for the purpose of rehabilitation of weak pelvic muscles and restoration of neuromuscular control for the treatment of male and female urinary incontinence.”

One Emsella session can produce the equivalent of 11,700 kegel exercise contractions.  Emsella is FDA cleared for mild to moderate stress incontinence and hyperactive bladder. 95% of patients have significant improvement.
